I May Be Wrong, But…$2.15bil for a Baseball Team?

• $2.15 billion dollars for a baseball team? Really?

Is there a chance that Magic Johnson’s group might declare bankruptcy a week after this goes through?

We’ve had this ‘buy gold’ thing all wrong.

And, how do you tack on $1.5mil to a $2bil figure? What was the last $1.5mil for? Magic’s private suite?

I’m sitting glued to CNN yesterday trying to determine if the Supreme Court will help my wife get coverage for her pre-existing conditions, and these dudes are making George roll over in his grave.

This changes everything, especially for the Wilpons.

Overnight, this gives the “street value” to the Mets a bump to around $1.5bil. Even Fred has to get hard over that figure.

Forget them selling the team. Remember, the Madoff mess is in the past. They now own an $800K ‘home” that almost doubled in value overnight without any increase of debt. That’s borrowing power, folks, even in this economy.

You need to refocus your energy on Sandy and the team. Yankee fans never let their fandom get in the way when George ruled.

 Forget the Wilpons.

Dip yourself in pickle juice a few times and get through the 2012 season.

One simply line of credit fixes everything.
