Friday night at Citi Field the Mets struggles continued…..The Brewers got to Bartolo Colon as they easily beat the Mets 7-0.
While the Met offense continued to slumber, Colon has his rockiest start of the season giving up single runs in the 2nd and 5th and a big 4 runs in the 3rd. Aramis Ramirez started the scoring in the 2nd with an RBI double Adam Lind. In the 3rd Carlos Gomez and Gerald Parra each had RBI doubles to make it 3-0. Then Ryan Braun, who an inning earlier made an amazing catch diving catch in right center robbing Wilmer Flores, hit a long 2 run homer (7) to the 2nd deck in left and it was 5-0 Milwaukee.
Colon gave up his final run in the 5th Parra hit a solo homer (2) to make it 6-0. Braun stroked a 2nd homer (8), a solo shot off Carlos Torres in the 8th and it was 7-0. Colon gets the loss falling to 6-2 going 5 innings allowing 7 hits 6 runs (5) earned walking none and striking out 2. Kyle Lohse was brilliant for the Brewers allowing just 1 hit through 6, he goes 8 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits walking 1 and striking out 8. He gets the win, he’s now 3-4.
Flores, Daniel Murphy and Michael Cuddyer got the only knocks for the Mets on the night. Flores committed his 9th error at short, a throwing error to lead off the third. With the loss the Mets lose their 5th straight and fall to 13-4 on the year at Citi Field. They are now 20-16 on the year and have dropped 13 of 20. Saturday night is the middle game of this 3 game set, Jacob deGrom (3-4 3.46) goes for the Mets, Matt Garza (2-4 4.04) goes for Milwaukee.

Good grief.
It gets worse... Nimmo was hurt tonight also
Nimmo too...this team has perfected the downward spiral.
Lots of subplot themes like Bucketloads of Injuries, and Can Kirk Hit Rookie Ball Pitching, or I Can't See The First Baseman Due to Fog, So I Hope My Throw from Short is Somewhere Close to the Bag?
Is it too much to expect deGrom and Harvey to win the next 2 against a 13-23 team?
