Favorite? Roy McMillan - vacuum cleaner in the 1960s who could turn that DP.
Least favorite? Tim Bogar.
Favorite was Jose Reyes who could both field his position (in his earlier days) and hit with aplomb (also in his earlier days).
Least favorite would be a major toss-up as we've trotted out so many bad ones...Omar Quintanilla, Kazuo Matsui, Ruben Tejada, etc.
Actually, let me give a shout-out to one of my favorites -- Frank Taveras -- I used to love his drag bunts and his stolen bases.
The only time I wouldn't miss an opponent AB was when Rey Odonez was in the field. (Would get a beer, hit the head during Met AB's only).
Wanted Jim Fregosi in 962 but not 1972.
Loved Ordonez until he got hurt in 2000. He never was the same after that. Reyes was my all time favorite. Loved his speed but wish his legs held up better. Never understood why theu moved him off short for Kaz Matsui. Reyes had much better range and arm.
Like so many Met acquisitions, Roy McMillan was in his twilight years when he joined the Mets. He did win 3 Gold Gloves before then. He could sure turn a DP.
Tom. Roy M also was a mentor to Bud Harrelson and Bud always gave him a lot of credit.
