Manny, Bowden, and the WBC

Just a few morning rants...

1. I did the numbers on Manny. He has made only 162M over his 15-year career, of which 20M was last year... does it make any sense at this point in his career to turn down the LA offer?

2. Even more bizarre is the Dodger position, They had 3.5 people attend their games last year alone. If they paid Manny 25M this year, that comes out as six bucks a ticket.

3. Am I hearing this correctly? Did the General Manager of the Nats, Jim Bowden, steal money from his players??? Even in a bizarre pre-season like this one has been, this can't be true...

4. And, regarding the WBC, some players will be out of camp for three weeks? How does this make any sense. I-tell-ya, if one front line player goes down with a season-ending injury, this is two years away from being played on a weekend in Hawaii post season.
