B-Mets 7, Jacksonville 2

The Binghamton Mets were victorious in their first Spring Training game of 2009. The 7-2 victory over the Jacksonville Suns, the AA Florida Marlins, was a sign of great things to come.

Mike Antonini, a key member of the 2008 B-Mets pitching staff, started the Mets off right with two strong innings of work. He allowed only one hit while walking none and striking out three. The remainder of the Mets pitching staff threw seven innings. They combined to allow two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out six

Ruben Tejada led the Mets offense going 3 for 3 with a double, two singles and four RBIs.
