Savannah 10, Charleston 5

I think this is the most runs the Gnats have scored all year. My be more than any game last year too.

The Gnats seem to doing everything they can to turn Kyle Allen into a starter. I would have had my money bet on Eric Beaulac, but what d I know? Allen did just okay, giving up 2ER in 6.0 IP. Allen also struck out five.

CF Sean Ratliff (3-4, 7th HR, .295) is really starting to cement his prospect status. Ratliff is a 4th round draft pick in 2008, who batted only .229 last year for Brooklyn, but is truly the team leader here in Savannah. Don’t be surprised if he doesn’t ship out to Lucy after the all-star break.

3B Jenry Marte really looks lost. He’s batting only .225, striking out far too many times, and leading the league, by position, in errors. I don’t expect him to be moved, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t spend next year in Savannah, similar to the 2-years Frankie Pena spent here. Hopefully, with better results.

We also had a Phillips Orta sighting. Orta was a late signee two years ago, and this is his third trip to Savannah. He was a starter, then a reliever, then a starter, and now a again a reliever. Great for the arm. One inning, one run, 9.00.
