Buffalo 10, Charlotte 3

SP Tobi Stoner had a good first AAA start, giving up only one earned run in his first five innings, but giving two more back in the 6th. The line was 6.0 IP, 3ER, 9H, 3K, 1BB, 4.50. Stoner would now be slotted as the 4th top starter in the pecking order, behind Jonathan Niese, Bradley Holt, and Jenry Mejia. Niese is still slotted to get the SP5 next year in Queens, but Stoner could actually compete for a starting slot next spring if John Maine doesn’t come back strong. The general consensus is the rotation next year will be Johan Santana, A free agency, Mike Pelfrey, John Maine, and Niese. Stoner and Fernando Nieve would be the next in line for a Maine-less rotation.

Lots of good hitting from a bunch of guys that will never make the Mets. An especially good game from OF Jesus Feliciano, who turned 30 last week. Feliciano was first drafted by the Dodgers, and was then signed in 2003 by Tampa Bay, followed in 2005 by the Nats. Fleiciano has done nothing wrong as a Mets minor leaguers, but the Mets will turn LF over to F-Mart next spring, Carlos Beltran will be in center, and some new free agent will be in right.

Perez is signed to a 3 year contract. I'd say he is pretty much a lock for the 2010 rotation

I'm not sure about that right now.

A lot things depend on how the Mets do this season.

If they Mets don't make the playoffs, there will be no Omar.

If there's no Omar, there probably in no Jerry.

And if there was no Omar and Jerry, someone new could get the ok from th Wilpons to buy out bad contracts like OP's and Castillo.

Bet ya a dollar he's not a Met next season.

(remember... I'm the guy that broke the OP signing 5 days before anyone else...)
