Collins told the press yesterday that he intends on playing Lucas Duda only in
right field this season. He will not be the injury replacement for Ike Davis,
which, according to TC, would be Daniel Murphy. Last week, Justin Turner was
said to be the backup first baseman. Who knows who next week.

Our
prayers go out to Joe D over at Metsmerized, who is having surgery today at his
local VA hospital. Joe has always been a loyal frend to MMs and is one of the few Mets bloggers out there that goes out of his way to come up with his own theme ideas for his site.

Johan
Santana threw live BP yesterday and reported on Twitter that his arm feels just
fine. He’s far from worrying about velocity, which will be a factor beginning
next week in real ST games. Don’t expect anything over 85. It’s a process.
