July 3rd -- Dbacks 5, Mets 3



Wednesday night in Flushing, Matt Harvey proved he was human. The Mets Ace had a shut out through 5 2/3’s when he yielded a three run homer to Cody Ross as the Dbacks come from behind to beat the Mets 5-3. For Harvey, it was the first 3 run homer he has yielded in his major league career. The Mets staked Harvey to a 2-nothing lead in the 4th when David Wright and Josh Satin hit solo homers off Arizona starter Randal Delgago. For Wright his 13th on the year, for Satin it was his first major league homer. The blast also extended Satins hitting streak to 9 straight.  Ross’s 5th homer on the season and 2nd in two days was the back breaker.  In the 7th the Dbacks scored 2 more times and knocked Harvey out of the game. Daniel Murphy connected off of David Hernandez in the 8th for a solo shot (#6) to cap the Mets scoring. Harvey went 6 innings he allowed 9 hits 5 runs he walked 4 and struck out 9 taking the loss falling to 7-2 on the year his era rises from 2.00 to 2.27.  Delgado goes 7 striking out 9 and gets the win; he’s now 1-2.  With the loss the Mets fall to 35-46 on the year (17-26 at home).
