ROSTER MOVE - SP Brad Wieck

Please be advised of the following Sand Gnats roster move:

6/13 - LHP Brad Wieck was sent to the San Diego Padres as the player to be named later to complete the March 30 trade that brought LHP Alex Torres to the Mets and sent RHP Cory Mazzoni to the Padres.

Torres sucks overall. It's that straightforward

I can blast Alex Torres all day..........but im too beaten down with team lately to do it.......
I'll say this: STOP BRINGING HIM IN TO FACE A LEFTY !!!!!!
Torres is a full inning type guy. (A 'clean' inning to start. And then pray he doesn't walk the leadoff guy).

Ernest nails this completely. Collins doesn't understand his own player and, because he has a left arm, insists that he's a LOOGY. He's been set up to fail.

Very tough to hit, but has control problems. Not a lefty specialists and the splits prove that. He should be used like Carlos Torres.

Why a team short on lefty starters organization-wide would trade a promising one like Wieck proves that Alderson panicked when he made this deal. The Mets are gonna regret this one in a few years.

If I remember correctly, Wieck was coming out of the pen until this trade happened. My guess is his new team 'instructed' the Mets to use him out of the Savannah rotation.
