This is the next post in a series intended to bring awareness to some of the lesser-known prospects in the Mets' organization This series will post a different prospect each weekday at 11:00am EST for the benefit of our fans.
Nick Morabito is a 20 year old (turning 21 in May) RHH 5-11/185 CF/RF/2B that the Mets drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, straight out of Gonzaga College High School.
He wet his pro whistle in 2022 with 22 at-bats at FCL that should he easily forgotten.
Last season he split time between the same FCL team (111-AB, .324/.437/.432/.869, 20-BB, 11-SB) and St. Lucie (93-AB, .286/.403/.378/.781, 14'BB, 10-SB).
He also has only three errors in his combined two seasons, three team 104-attempts).
Morabito is built like a fullback.
His swing has short levers with a direct to ball approach. A short, compact swing with no wasted movements.
Possesses above-average raw power and above average speed (6.68-sec. in 60 seconds).
MACKS SPIN -
No need to rush here.
Figure three seasons away, if there is room for the then very crowded centerfield and shortstop positions.
If not, could be moved for a starter.

Nick the quick. Tougher pitching competition for the speedster this year. Stay healthy in 2024 and rack up the ABs.
Like these athletic types. They tend to be a little heartier. I have seen him in a spring training game, so they must think highly of him given the number of prospects available.
Hopefully, he shows some power this year.
