New Hampshire Beats Binghamton

It’s good to see that Brad Holt got right back up on the horse. This is the closest thing the Mets have to a future SP2 and he needs to pitch at Binghamton for the remainder of the season and be left alone.

That being said, it was another bad outing for Holt. He gave up two runs in the second and two more in the third. Sure he had five strikeouts in the first three innings, but an AA ERA of 10.24 at that point in the game isn’t going to hack it. Final stats for the night: 3.1-IP, 4-ER, 6-K, 2-BB, 1-HR, 9.90…

Someone said today that we shouldn’t sweat it… he moved up a level and this shit happens… everything’s fine if he keeps up the strikeout ratio… okay…let’s look: AA: 9-Ks, 7-BB, 10.0-IP…

OF Caleb Stewart hit another home run. That’s two since he came off the DL.

Stephen Clyne came in to pitch the seventh inning and barely got out of the inning, giving up five runs. Clyne was once thought of as prospect material, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to get past the low-A level. Finished 2008 with a combined (Brooklyn-Lucy) ERA of 4.77, and this year’s is now 6.26. These are the kind of guys that hate it when the draft happens. Here comes 30 guys to take your job away.

It’s 10pm and the score is 10-1… I’m done for tonight.
