TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Louisville Bats in the third game of a four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd has lost the first two games of this series 4-1 and 5-4 and has now lost six games in a row. Buffalo will open a four-game set in Indianapolis against the Indians on Saturday.

vs. BATS: The Bisons are 3-3 against the Bats this season. Buffalo took three out of four games when they hosted the Bats at Coca-Cola Field, June 26-29. Down 0-2 in this series, the Herd needs to win two straight to earn their third consecutive split at Louisville Slugger Field.

GERMEN: RHPGONZALEZ GERMAN will make his Bisons and Triple-A debut tonight. The righty was promoted today after going 6-7 with a 4.60ERA in 13 games/12 starts with Binghamton (AA). German is in his fifth season as a pro after being signed by the Mets in 2007. He is the 12th different pitcher to start a game for the Bisons this season.

BACKSTOP SWAP: C ROB JOHNSONhas been recalled by the New York Mets. The catcher hit .207 (34-164) with seven doubles, one home run and 15RBI in 45 games with the Bisons. To make room, the Mets optioned CMIKE NICKEAS to Buffalo. Nickeas has been with the Bisons in parts of each of the last three seasons, hitting .207 (42-202) with two homers and 15RBI in 69 games.

HARVEY: Tonight, Bisons All-Star RHPMATT HARVEY will make his major league debut for the Mets versus Arizona (9:40 p.m.). In 20 starts for the Herd this season, he was 7-5 with a 3.68ERA. Before his call up, he led the Bisons in all pitching triple crown categories and ranked 2nd in the IL in strikeouts (112). Harvey will be reunited with Bisons catcher Rob Johnson in Arizona.

BISONS BITS: LHPJUSTIN HAMPSON has pitched scoreless baseball in 14 of his last 16 appearances out of the Bisons bullpen. He has allowed just 15 hits with 18 strikeouts in his last 18.2 innings of work...Of CLUCAS MAY’S 45 hits this season, 22 have gone for extra bases (16 doubles, three triples, three homers)...RHPJENRRY MEJIA has made three consecutive scoreless appearances out of the Bisons’ bullpen. In his last 4.1 innings he has allowed four hits with two strikeouts.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (47-52) were swept in a three-game home series by Washington, falling 5-2 to the Nationals yesterday. Former Bisons 1BIKE DAVIS hit his team-leading 18th home run in his second straight contest. The Mets are in Arizona for a three-game set with the opener tonight at 9:40 p.m
