TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Louisville Bats in the finale of a four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd won 10-7 last night to snap its six-game losing streak. The Bisons trail 2-1 in their series with the Bats. Tomorrow, the Bisons travel to Indianapolis to face the Indians -their final non-divisional foe of the 2012 season.

vs. BATS: The Bisons are 4-3 against the Bats this season. Buffalo took three out of four games when they hosted the Bats at Coca-Cola Field, June 26-29. With a victory tonight, the Herd will pick up the season-series victory over the Bats, its second in the past three years (2010: 5-3, 2011: 4-4).

OLSON: Tonight, LHPGARRETT OLSON will become the third Bisons pitcher to make 20 starts this season (Familia 21, Harvey 20). The southpaw fell in defeat his last time out, allowing four earned in 2.2 innings of work on Sunday against Charlotte. Olson defeated the Bats on June 27 at Coca-Cola Field, yielding just three runs with five strikeouts in 6.1 innings (Bisons, 9-4).

TOP HEAVY: The top four Bisons’ hitters in the lineup last night combined to go 12-17 with seven runs, four doubles a home run and nine RBI. OF FRED LEWIS(4-4, BB, 3R) and INF ZACH LUTZ (3-3, 2BB, 3RBI) reached base all five times they came to the plate and INFJOSH RODRIGUEZ (3-5) had three doubles and five RBI. Rehabbing OF MIKE BAXTER had two hits and an RBI.

NEWCOMERS: The Bisons welcome CMIKE NICKEAS and LHP ROBERT CARSON to the team today. Nickeas has been with the Bisons for part of each of the past three seasons and hit .168 (17-101) in 42 games with the Mets this year. Carson led Binghamton (AA) with nine saves, going 1-2 with a 4.79ERA in 31 games. Carson made his big league debut in two games earlier this year.

BISONS BITS: RHPJENRRY MEJIA has moved back into the Bisons starting rotation and will pitch Monday in Indy. Mejia is 0-1 with a 1.13ERA in three starts this season...LHPJUSTIN HAMPSON has pitched scoreless baseball in 14 of his last 16 appearances out of the Bisons bullpen. He has allowed just 15 hits with 18 strikeouts in his last 18.2 innings of work...RHPGONZALEZ GERMEN was transferred to Double-A Binghamton today.

METS UPDATE: It was an almost perfect MLB debut for Bisons All-Star RHPMATT HARVEY as the Mets (48-52) defeated the Diamondbacks, 3-1. Harvey struck out 11 batters in 5.1 shutout innings and even collected two base hits himself. New York will try to ride the momentum into tonight’s 9:40 p.m. first pitch in Arizona.
