This late night stunner was about the money. Reyes at $22 million per year actually makes more than Tulowitzki at $20 million, but his contract is shorter, so the deal saves Colorado quite a bit of money. There are unnamed minor leaguers coming back to Colorado as well, but at first glance it seems like Toronto got the better end of this deal.
Did Toronto really need to add another slugger in addition to Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion?

Watch Toronto move Batista to Detroit for Price now. Only way this move makes sense for Toronto is if they move a bat for a pitcher.
Maybe Batista to Cleveland for Carlos Carrasco & Swisher/Bourn
Unless you have an informed, thoughtful take on the prospects, it's meaningless to have a "first glance" at this trade.
It's all in the details.
Toronto is such a strange organization. It's like they just made the Dickey trade again.

At the time the trade was announced the minor league players going back to Colorado were not named. Consequently I couldn't comment on them. The sarcasm was not appreciated.
I think he's saying why don't you just withhold comment until you know the prospects then? And Idk if he was even being sarcastic?
