Las Vegas' Matt Bowman roughed up again. DDario Alvarez, promoted, relieved Matt and got two outs and the win. Dilson Herrera homered, had 3 total hits and 4 RBIs. Vegas had 24 base runners. Muno and Ceciliani had 3 hits apiece, Monell 3 RBIs, and Taijeron got on base 4 times.
Binghamton's Seth Lugo has quietly put together a nice season, and today he...was...OUTSTANDING. 7 IP, 4 H, 8 Ks. ERA of 3.20 and 89 Ks in 98 innings.
Joe Benson had a HR and 4 RBIs. Of most current interest, though, to Mets fans: Travis d'Anaud was 2-5 in his 2nd rehab game (he was the DH). Akeel Morris and Jeff Walter with a scoreless inning apiece to complete the shutout.
St Lucie got hammered today. 16 runs. Casey Meisner had his worst start of the season surrendering 7 runs, and Paul Paez allowed 7 runs more in a short outing.
An ugly 8 of the 16 runs were unearned (Phil Evans (.237) made 3 errors, while getting on base 3 times). SS Yeixon Ruiz was hitting .210 a few days ago, but 4 hits tonight have him at 8-13 the past 3 games, pushing him up to .239.
Savannah - Greensboro is 23 games below .500 and the Gnats took advantage of ineptitude like 4 unearned runs.
Casey Delgado had a solid start, but today, hitters like Michael Katz and John Mora did the deal, Mora with 3 hits (12 for his last 23) and Katz with 3 hits, including a HR & 4 RBIs.
Two Gnats relievers almost coughed it up, allowing 3 runs, but the Gnats hung on for the W.
Brooklyn failed to score much again, with 2 runs and 5 hits. A weak start from Andrew Church (4.1 IP, 9 H, 3 BB, 4 R). Luis Mateo allowed a run in 2 innings 1H, 1BB, 1 K).
Kingsport's Nabil Crismatt (2.59 ERA) was solid in the win and has struck out 30 in 24 innings in 2015. Pat Mazelka (.331) had 2 hits and scored 3 runs and his 24th RBI. 3B Greg Valencia (.283) had 2 hits and 3 RBIs.
