MiLB

Binghamton Mets outfielder Michael Conforto was recognized on Monday as the Eastern League Player of the Week for his efforts in a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder. The Washington native went 7-for-16 with a double, a triple and two home runs to lead Binghamton to the series win.

Conforto, 22, returned from playing in the All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati and launched an opposite-field two-run homer in his first game back on Thursday. The outfielder followed up his power show with a go-ahead blast on Saturday. In 41 games with the B-Mets, Conforto is hitting .325 with five home runs and 24 RBI. He started the season in the Florida State League with the St. Lucie Mets and was named Player of the Week twice.
