Binghamton Mets outfielder Michael Conforto was recognized on Monday as the Eastern League Player of the Week for his efforts in a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder. The Washington native went 7-for-16 with a double, a triple and two home runs to lead Binghamton to the series win.
Conforto, 22, returned from playing in the All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati and launched an opposite-field two-run homer in his first game back on Thursday. The outfielder followed up his power show with a go-ahead blast on Saturday. In 41 games with the B-Mets, Conforto is hitting .325 with five home runs and 24 RBI.
