Oswalt Named League Pitcher of the Week

Binghamton Rumble Ponies starter Corey Oswalt has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week. Oswalt tossed a two-hit shutout against the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday, August 2. After allowing the first two hitters to reach, Oswalt retired the final 20 batters he faced to secure a seven-inning complete game, his first career wire-to-wire victory.

Oswalt joins PJ Conlon, Champ Stuart and Chris Flexen as Rumble Ponies that have received league honors this season.

I wonder if biting the heads off chickens could hasten a promotion?

Maybe but just so he doesn't kneel for the National Anthem.

Oswalt has been on of late: drop one short start in early July (2 innings, 3 runs), and he has thrown 44 innings since June 22 and allowed just 4 earned runs, 32 hits, 12 walks, 38 Ks - he is clearly on the upswing.

I read another blog that said Marcos Molina was at 89-91 in his last start - I hope that is not his new normal.

Oswald pitched 6.2 innings of shutout ball last night. He wants to join Flexen in Sept in Queens. Flexen gave up 3 runs but when he left with a man on first and 2 outs in the 6th, Goeddel allowed a run scoring double for the Third Run.
