For a team beset by injuries in every direction, securing the services of the DL-dwelling Walker would not seem particularly smart unless it was a one-year deal with Guillorme behind him.
Reese, I can't call Walker the next Travis D'Arnaud quite yet, but he has always been healthy except for hurting his back in 2016 and an unrelated injury in 2017, from which he came back and finished strong.

I have big plans for Luis Guillorme in 2019 at this position.
Frankly, I could care who they sign in 2018. Wilmer Flores is fine there in a turnaround year.
Spend your bucks on the mound, third, and in the outfield.
Mack keeps telling us the Wilkins call the shots. When it comes to Guillorme, Mack calls the shots.
Using Flores makes too much sense, so instead they will bundle off limited assets to get the one year remaining of Ian Kinsler.
Mack---You say you're fine with Wilmer at 2B, while spending for 3B. That combo won't work. If we spend on 3B, Cabby will be by FAR the best option at 2B.
