OPEN THREAD - Jeurys Familia

The return of former stud closer, Jeurys Familia, just hasn't worked out. He's suffering from something called 'Bennet Lesion'

A Bennett lesion is a bone spur at the posterior glenoid that is often seen in baseball players and usually asymtomatic; however, it sometimes becomes painful, but the mechansism of throwing pain is still unknown.

Got that?

So... here's the question...

Should they shut down Jeurys Familia for the remainder of this year and deal with his Bennet Lesion?

Shut him down and call up either Chris Flexen or Harol Gonzalez to fill that slot.

I agree.......if he isn't effective (which he was not when he was pitching earlier this year), then what are you losing by getting
him healthy?

Mack,

I Bennet Lesion happens in the brain, then that's what Familia has.
To me, he has lost his gravitas and is pitching scared of contact.
