August 15th Transactions and Kudos: Juan Uriate, Mark Vientos, Tommy Wilson, Nixon Silva

A-Columbia sent C Juan Uriate to GCL-Mets for a rehab session

The 21-year old Uriarte has been a spiraling downspin since his .305 2017 season for Rookie-Kingsport.

He fouled a ball off his own knee during his first at-bat for Brooklyn in 2018 and he never played another game that season.
So far this season for A-Columbia: 175-AB. .200

Everybody loved this kid as soon as the Mets signed him. Amazin’ Avenue had him as one of the top 15 bats in the system to start the 2018 season.

Let’s hope he can find his way back.

IF Nick Conti assigned from GCL-Mets to A-Columbia

Has hit .238 for GCL this season. ???

A-Columbia places 3B Mark Vientos on IL

Ah… now the Conti move makes sense.

      Kudos –

AAA-Syracuse – RP Matt Blackham: 1-IP, 0-R, K, 0.96

It’s time guys…

AA-Binghamton – SP Tommy Wilson: 7-IP, CG, 2-H, R, 7-K

A real tough loss for Wilson. No one this season deserved a win more in a game than this guy.

            A-Columbia – SP Bryce Hutchinson: 7-IP, ER, 6-K, 3.39

Hutch has climbed back to blue status.

Low-A Brooklyn – SS Yoel Romero: 2-4, R, .265

Rookie – Kingsport – RP Nixon Silva: 3-IP, 0-R, 4-K

In 2018, in 11-G, went 6-0, 1.24 for the DS:-1 team

            GCL – SP Jordany Ventura: 4-IP, 0-R, 4-K

            DSL-1 – RP Alvaro Figueroa: 4.1-IP, 9-R, 2-K

            DSL-2 – C Kevin Torres: 3-5, 4-R, RBI

Hopefully Wilson is a part of the AAA rotation next year and we've seen the last of the AAAA filler types.

Maybe Blackham deserves a shot and they should demote the "batting practice" pitcher who almost blew the
huge lead last night (GAG-non).

Gagnon was starting all year in AAA then is asked to go twice in three days in games up here. I think that if they wanted him to pitch like that in the Majors they should have had him do that in the minors first. Maybe that is why Mickey said he took one for the team.

John, I watched the Braves' highlights today, as I missed the homers he gave up. These guys that hit him are REALLY GOOD. Let's see how he does against weaker KC if he gets to pitch.

Tommy Wilson was great - only run allowed was due to a botched outfield play by Paez, normally not an OF. The guy Wilson lost to (Pearson) is Toronto's # 2 guy, a flamethrowing beast. He and Kay and Richardson give them quite a trio of young arms to soon go with Bichette and Guerrero.

Gimenez down to .230. It's why he is sliding down my prospect list.
