Look,
I know this kid had no success for the parent team this season (7-G,
10.80-ERA), but I’m telling you that he is a future member of our 2020 pen.
He
has now pitched in 18… count them… 18 Syracuse games, and 25-IP, and he still
hasn’t given up a AAA run.
Definitely
one of my September call-ups.
AA-Binghamton

– RP Daison Acosta: 6-IP, 0-ER, 4-K, 2.70
An excellent season so far for Acosta.
Four
games in Brooklyn (0.98) and eight here (2.70), combine for a 12-G, 2.13
season.
Bonus:
He’s only 20-years old.
Rookie
– Kingsport – RF Scott Ota: 3-5, R, .289
GCL – SP Josh
Wolf: 2-IP, 0-ER, 1-K, 4.50
Wolf is developing nicely as a
top prospect.
Only
13 pitches (11 strikes) in the two innings he was allotted.
Has
now four limited pitch start. One was a disaster (Aug 5th, 1-IP,
3-ER) and three that collectively gave up zero earned runs.
I
still think the tops you might see from him this season is three innings
thrown.
DSL-1 – SP Kevin Hernandez: 6-IP,
0-R, 5-K, 3.19
The
18/yr. old is settling in nicely as a possible future prospect. His past
4-starts: 20.2-IP, 21-K, 1-ER.
He
pitched for the DSL-2 team earlier this year as a reliever and put up a
5.82-ERA.
Now,
for DSL-1 as a starter: 4-ST, 2-0, 0.44, 0.92
DSL-2 – SP David Marcano: 6-iP,
0-ER, 4-K

Mack, Good point on Nogosek. He makes more sense than relivers who have struggled in AAA.
Also kudos to Garrison Bryant who pitched 5 shutout innings last night for Brooklyn before the game was suspended for fog.
Ajlso offer Nogosek support. His stat-shattering appearances 1.2IP, %H, 5R came on 2 occasions both within 24 rs of call-up. Gotta see more to make a judgement.
Nogosek should help if he is called up in September with those good AAA stats.
