Mack – Transactions and Kudos: Daison Acosta, Jake Magnum, Matt Allen, Freddy Valdez

Monday, August 12th

No transactions.

      Kudos –

            A-Columbia – SP Daison Acosta: 5.1-IP, 0-R, 6-K

                  That’s 1-ER in last 10.1 innings thrown

Combined Brooklyn/Columbia stats this season: 11-G, 10-starts, 2-2, 2.39, 1.20, 49-IP, 57-K

Low-A Brooklyn – CF Jake Magnum:  2-4, R. .263

Has hit .364 in his last 10 games.

Rookie – Kingsport – RP Reyson Santos:  1-IP, 0-R, K

            GCL – SP Matt Allen: 2-IP,0-R, 2-K, 2.08

16 pitches for Allen. 20 must be the top you see out of him for the rest of this season.

Everything on target to shoot the moon and start off next season in Columbia.

            DSL-1 – RF Freddy Valdez: 3-5, 3-R, 4-RBI, .277

Yes, his BA could be higher, but there isn’t much else this kid could do at this level.

It’s surprising it is taking the Mets this long to send him stateside. He probably is the top outfield prospect in the chain right now.

            DSL-2 – RP Melvin Arteaga:  3-IP, 0-R, 3-K

Daison Acosta is moving up the pitching ranks. Watched him a little bit last night - looked decent.

Matt Allen and Wolf both looking strong in early debut outings.

I'm not surprised, Mets know how to develop pitchers in the minors
