MMs BLUE prospect, 6-1 RHP Jeffrey Colon made his first Brooklyn Cyclones start this past Wednesday.
The 22-yr. old speedballer was signed as an International UDFA and began his Mets stateside career last season for the FCL Mets.
An impressive stat line:
9-G, 1-ST 2-1, 1.93, 18.2-IP, 27-K
This season for St. Lucie:
14-G, 3-0, 3.04/1.07, 47.1-IP, 57-K
Final for Wednesday night:
2.2-IP, 5-H, 1-ER, 1-K, 1-BB, 1.59

Yeah, I know we all know what this is and what end result number is a good or bad one, but are we just faking here and trying to look kewl?

This is one of those great examples that, well,, ya just never know.
We talk all the time about first round picks that never make it to the majors. Well, what about the guys like Mike Piazza that drafted in the millionth round.
31 year old RHP Kevin Herget was drafted in the 39th round of the 2013 draft, out of mighty Kean University in New Jersey.
So, the Cards draft him and he plays eight minor league seasons, ending this year with a stint with Tampa Bay.
Guess what?
He was called to the majors by the Ray's as a possible spot starter.
God. I love this game.
DIVISIONAL THOUGHTS

Going forward, I just don't see the Phillies being a problem. We seem to match up well against them while, at the same time, put out a better mound presence.
As for the Braves, we need more partying followed by DUI checks in that town.
No, seriously, right now, they are playing better ball than even Baltimore (boy, this sentence would have been a real nothing burger last year).
The best way to deal with this is to play .750 ball for the rest of the season. .700 just may not be good enough.

This has got to be the easiest person to like since David Wright.
If I was the Mets right now, I would be conservative regarding the healing and return of Eduardo Escobar. Even to the point that his return would only be just prior to the playoffs. However, I would welcome back Luis Guillorme as my UT-IF-1.
Baty's highest exit velocities were both hit against a lefthander proving no platooning is necessary here.
No, the closest this kid will ever see Syracuse again is as a flyover on the way to Montreal with his fam for vacation.
