10th Rd. Mets Pick -

10th Round Pick - RF – Nick Santomauro – L/R – 6-2, 205 – Dartmouth College –

(I did not have him on the top 83 outfielders available in the draft)

2008: All-Ivy League and NEIBA All-New England first team ... ABCA All-Northeast second team ... chosen as the team’s best offensive player ... led the team in runs, triples, homers, RBIs, slugging and walks ... also tied for the team lead with 17 multi-hit games ... reached base in 38 of the 42 games ... singled home the only run in the 1-0 season-opening win at Navy ... needed just a single for the cycle, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs in a 12-2 romp over CCSU ... tripled again later that day against Ohio State ... was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and a run in the win over Northwestern ... reached base all five times in the 11-1 win at Cornell with three singles and two walks ... crushed a grand slam in the second game against the Big Red and scored three times in the 18-11 victory ... laced two doubles, scored twice and drove in one during a 9-3 win over Columbia ... stroked a two-run triple in a 7-2 win over Quinnipiac ... homered in consecutive games at Brown ... his three-run shot was the difference in a 9-7 win over the Bears ... cranked two doubles and a homer with three runs and RBIs in an 11-5 win versus Holy Cross ... homered the next game as well against Yale ... drove in seven runs with a double, two triples and a long ball versus Harvard ... destroyed Columbia pitching in the Ivy Championship, going 5-for-11 (.455) with four homers, five runs and eight RBIs for a slugging percentage of 1.545.

Dartmouth was well represented on the All-Ivy selections, including two of three superlative awards for the 2009 season. Junior Nick Santomauro, also the Blair Bat winner, took both unanimous Player of the Year and first team All-Ivy accolades after a scintillating .824 slugging percentage in Ivy play
