Gnats lose 7-2

Savannah lost 7-2.

Once again, no 2B Jordany Valdespin in the lineup. This guy looks like more bad news than Leivi Ventura was two years ago…

SP Robert Carson started the game. I’ve had him on and off the prospect list and the Mets really like this kid. A little erratic this year… three of his ten starts produced ERA’s of 10.12, 7.50, and 5.40… the good news is five more combined for an ERA of 0.00 (27.0 IP). This is his 11th start and he hasn’t gone past six inning.

Carson started off rocky in the first… two opening singles, a throwing error of his own, and a HBP, but he got out with only a 1-0 deficit. He gave up another run with… you guessedit, another wild pitch, in the 5th.

Carson lasted only 5.0 innings (2R. 1 ER, 2.35), but RP Samuel Martinez (9.00), screwed the pooch, giving up three more runs in the 6th. Then, the floor gates opened.

The Gnats scored twice in the 9th.

3B Jenry Marte made his soon-to-be record 25th fielding error, in his 56th game.
