The hapless Herd lost the first of two, to Syracuse, 4-2.
New pitcher Pat Misch gave up 4 earned runs in 6.0 innings, raising his Buffalo ERA to 6.14, but there has to be a story on this guy that I haven't heard. He started the season with a AAA-PCL Fresco (Giants) team, went 3-0, 2.00 in 12 games, one start, then relieved in four MLB games, busted out with a 10.80 ERA in 4 games, 3.1 IP, and was released.... doesn't a 3-0, 2.00 ERA warrant you another shot at AAA on your original team?
Buffalo "pounded" out seven hits, including two each by Cory Sullivan (.276), 1B Wily No Mas Mo Pena (.263), and Javier "don't call me Luis" Castillo (.269).
Man, this is a Gawd-awful team.
