Mets Select Contract of Bisons LHP Jon SwitzerSouthpaw Posted 2.13ERA in 21 Games with Herd
The New York Mets today announced that they have selected the contract of Buffalo Bisons LHP Jon Switzer. New York had a roster spot available after placing RHP John Maine on the disabled list today, retroactive to June 7.
Switzer was 0-2 with a 2.13ERA (25.1IP, 6ER) in 21 games with the Bisons. The 29-year-old has allowed just 21 hits while striking out 29 out of the Herd bullpen. Since May 1st, the southpaw has pitched to a 1.50ERA after allowing only three earned on nine hits with 19 strikeouts over his last 18.0 innings of work.
