LAST GAME: The New Britain Rock Cats packed all their offense into the seventh inning to hand the B-Mets a 3-0 loss at New Britain Stadium last night. It was Binghamton’s sixth shutout loss of the season. Evan Bigley broke a scoreless game with a leadoff home run in the seventh inning against B-Mets starter Collin McHugh. Chris Herrmann added a two-run double later in the inning against reliever Brad Holt. New Britain starter Logan Darnell scattered seven hits over seven shutout innings to collect his fifth win. Luis Perdomo left the bases loaded in a scoreless eighth and Bobby Lanigan threw a shutout ninth to earn his third save.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Zack Wheeler (3-2, 2.15) makes his eighth start of the season and first against the Rock Cats. The right-hander has won three consecutive starts and has not allowed more than two earned runs in any  game this season. Wheeler defeated the Trenton Thunder in his previous start on May 17. The Georgia native allowed two runs on two hits and struck out eight over a season-best seven innings.

RHP David Bromberg (1-1, 3.94) makes his eleventh appearance of the season and sixth start. Bromberg began the season in the bullpen and contributed with one spot start on April 17. He became a full-time member of the rotation in late April. The righty suffered his first loss in his previous start against the New Britain Rock Cats on May 17. He allowed three runs on nine hits over 6.2 innings of work. Bromberg had a 20-inning scoreless streak snapped by the Fisher Cats in his last start.
