Ft. Myers 3 - St. Lucie 1

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 3, 2018) – The Fort Myers Miracle clipped the St. Lucie Mets 3-1 on Sunday at First Data Field.

Brandon Lopez broke a 1-1 tie with a RBI double in the eighth inning. Another run scored later in the frame on a passed ball.

Miracle starter Tyler Wells limited the Mets to two hits and one run over eight innings. The only run the Mets scored came on a Mike Paez home run that briefly tied the game in the seventh inning.

Mets starter Blake Taylor was just as effective. He held the Miracle to one run on two hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out seven.

Stephen Nogosek took the loss. Miracle reliever Andrew Vasquez pitched a scoreless ninth for his fourth save.

The teams combined for just five hits – three for the Miracle and two for the Mets. The Mets hits were the Paez homer and a first inning double by Andres Gimenez.
