Mack reported this at the time Rowdey Jordan was drafted:
“Mack's spin - It's sort of funny that the Mets drafted Jordan. This is the guy that cleaned Kumar Rocker's clock with three hits in Rocker's final college start in the College World Series finals.”
Fast forward:
The 24 year old switch hitting OF, playing for Binghamton, in the month of June, through Thursday?
18 games, .319/.434/.594.
What’s not to like there?
Let’s get Rowdey, people.
For a guy who hits better than Michael Jordan did in AA.
LUCAS GORDILLO
Mets’ DSL righty who fanned 9 in just 3.2 IP on Saturday. A nice pace. Now has 20 Ks in 10 pro innings. Nuts. I’m a fan of guys who fan guys.
CHRISTOPHER SUERO
19 year old catcher, in the FCL, in his first 9 games?
He’s hitting a sizzling .435/.581/.609.
Nice. Well, actually, more than nice. Awesome start.
CORBIN CARROLL
Maybe you don’t recognize the name. You should.
Carroll was a 22 year old, 16th overall pick by Arizona in 2019, after the Mets chose Brett Baty at #12 overall instead.
Baty in 2023?
52 games, .237/.311/.347, 11 extra base hits, one steal.
Corbin in 2023?
75 games, 39 extra base hits, 23 steals, .299/.398/.575 for D Backs.
And that is after missing 2020 due to the pandemic and almost all of 2021 as well.
His minors career? 142 action-packed games:
.310/.426/.588, 52 of 59 in steals, 32 doubles, 17 triples, 28 HRs in just 539 at bats. Wow.
Baty will be good.
Corbin, playing at a top Beltran pace already stage 22, will perhaps be great.
I’ll just say it, if you would allow me.
We drafted the wrong guy.
Again.
Like when we picked 1B slugger Dom Smith (2 HRs in his last roughly 600 plate appearances), rather than the available Aaron Judge.
We blew it not picking Corbin Carroll.
(Our top 3 picks in 2022 are looking pretty good, though, huh?)
NO METS CURSE?
How do you explain Eduardo Escobar’s first game with the Angels being a 25-1 win? Escape hell, and immediately win by 24.
No, there is no curse. In fact, the Mets just won the first of 8 straight, which will propel them back over .500. Of that, I am sure.

8 game winning streaks change everything!
Isn't Corbin Carroll.yhe name of that 80s wine that used to have that annoying "echo" effect in their commercial?
From Sonoma Vineyards.
Might prefer him over Soto.
As of June 26, in 21 games in June, Rowdey Jordan is .317/.417/.561 in AA. Serious performance.
