TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Rochester Red Wings in a doubleheader from Frontier Field (Game 1: 5:05 p.m.). The teams will play two today and have an off day on Sunday. Buffalo is coming off a 6-1 homestand and has now won 12 of their last 16 games. Today’s games start the Herd’s season-long 10-game roadtrip with stops in Gwinnett and Charlotte.

SERIOUSLY GOOD: The Bisons have now won four consecutive series. The streak began April 20-22 when the Herd took two of three in Syracuse. Buffalo has followed with two of three from the IronPigs, April 23-25, three straight from Rochester, April 27-29 and three of four from Syracuse, May 1-4.

THRUWAY CUP: The Bisons have already picked up their 10th Thruway Series win. At 10-4, the Herd has a four-game lead over Syracuse (5-7) and a five-game lead on the Wings (4-8). Buffalo is 5-2 against Rochester this season. The teams split a four-game series at Frontier Field, April 7-10.

ON THE BUMP: RHP DYLAN OWEN makes his third start since moving to the rotation on April 23. The righty was dominating in his last outing, allowing just one run on four hits in seven innings against Rochester on April 29. He struck out seven in that game. LHP GARRETT OLSON gets game 2 today on short rest. The southpaw has allowed three or fewer earned runs in all five of his starts in 2012. He allowed just one run in five innings of a no-decision against Rochester on April 9 at Frontier Field.

SO, SO GOOD: INF MATT TUIASOSOPO had about as perfect of a game as you could have on Friday night. The infielder was 4-4 at the plate with a pair of homers. He also successfully fielded 10 chances at third base. It was the third game this year Tuiasosopo has been perfect at the plate, going 2-2 on April 16 in Lehigh Valley and 2-2 on April 22(2) in Syracuse.

BISONS BITS: RHP FERNANDO CABRERA is 6-for-6 in save opportunities. The six saves are tied for the most in the IL. INF BOBBY SCALES leads the IL with a .491 on-base percentage and is 2nd with a .372 batting average...With his seven shutout innings last night, RHPJEREMY HEFNER lower his ERA to 1.64 -2nd lowest in the IL.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (13-13) lost to the Diamondbacks, 5-4, last night at Citi Field. Former Bisons RHP DILLON GEE struck out six in six innings of a no-decision. INF JORDANY VALDESPIN stole his first major league base. New York will host Arizona again today at 4:05 p.m.
