TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Chiefs struck first in the series with an 8-0 win in last night’s opener. Buffalo is now 3-1 on their current seven-game homestand that runs through Friday. The Herd has won nine of their last 13 games.

SERIOUSLY GOOD: The Bisons have won three consecutive series. The Herd took two of three over the Chiefs at Alliance Bank Stadium, April 20-22, and two of three from the IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park, April 23-25. The Bisons then won all three of the games that were played against Rochester, April 27-29.

THRUWAY CUP: The Bisons’ (7-4) lead in the Thruway Series standings is now just one game over Syracuse (5-4). Rochester is in third place and 4-8. The Bisons are 2-2 against the Chiefs this year and an even 114-114 in 228 regular season games against Syracuse since rejoining the IL in 1998.

HARVEY: RHPMATT HARVEY is coming off a pair of stellar starts. He struck out a Bisons’ season high 10 batters on Friday, April 20 in Syracuse for a 6-4 win. Last Wednesday in Lehigh Valley, Harvey turned in seven shutout innings in a 12-1 Herd victory. The righty didn’t walk a batter and allowed just four hits in that victory. He also added a two-run home run against the IronPigs and has three hits and three RBI in seven at-bats this year (.429 average).

STREAKIN’:  OFVINNY ROTTINO extended his hit streak to 12 games last night. The slugger has averaged .340 (16-47) since the streak began on April 18. Rottino’s stretch is one-game shy of INFVALENTINO PASCUCCI’S 13-game streak that ended last night. Rottino has played in all 25 Bisons games this year and has at least one hit in 20 of those contests.

BISONS BITS: LHPCHUCK JAMES has pitched scoreless baseball in eight of his nine appearances this year. The southpaw has allowed just six hits in 9.2 innings of work...INFBOBBY SCALES continues to lead the IL in average (.397) and on-base percentage (.510)...The Bisons are 3-0 on Wednesday this year, outscoring their opponents, 28-5...INFZACH LUTZ went 1-3 with a walk in his first game since returning from the Mets.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (13-11) lost 6-3 to the Astros on Tuesday night. Former Bisons INFJUSTIN TURNER scored two of New York’s runs. LHP JON NIESE suffered his first loss of the season after allowing five runs in three innings of work. The Mets look to avoid the three-game sweep in Houston today at 2:05 p.m.
