I talked to Rutger’s (31-23) Tyler Gebler today. We partuclarly talked about his
superior outing on Thursday vs. Villanova (28-27). The stat line was quite
impressive: 9.0-IP, CG, 1-R, 6-H, 8-K, 1-BB.
“The last weekend series before the tournament
is always important. Our bats really came alive which will hopefully carry over
into the tournament. I was able to control all of my pitches in my last outing
and when you can do that pitching becomes much easier. I'd say we have
everything going in the right direction to make a run in the big east
tournament.”

11. Oakland Athletics David Dahl Outfielder, Oak Mountain High School

12. New York Mets Matthew Smoral Pitcher, Solon High School Ohio The Mets have reached for players in the
past. I like Michael Wacha better than
any other pitchers on the board, but at the end of the day, I strongly believe
that the Mets will prefer Smoral. The
Mets will like Smoral because of his physical tools on the mound. Smoral
currently weighs in at 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds.
The consensus has Smoral going 12th overall to the Mets. Smoral would be a bit of a reach at this
spot. Some believe Smoral has Randy
Johnson like physical makeup. I have a
hard time buying that at this point.
NC State freshman LHSP Carlos Rodon named ACC’s Pitcher of the Year and
Freshman of the Year.
Mets get Courtney Hawkins, Jesse Winker and Kolby Copeland in PG Mock Draft.
Florida senior outfielder Preston Tucker went 8-for-14 this weekend against
Auburn. Tucker’s eight hits included two doubles and two home runs. The Gators
took two out of three from the Tigers and Tucker is now hitting .321/.405/.601
on the season. Catcher Mike Zunino also had a great weekend, going 4-for-10
with two doubles and his 15th home run of the year. Zunino is a lock to be a
top five pick in June and is now hitting .324/.386/.657.
