Port St. Lucie- The Bradenton Marauders (18-21) were swept by the Mets (31-8) in a pair of seven inning games Wednesday. The Marauders dropped the opener 6-3, then fell in the second game 4-0 at Digital Domain Park.

Jameson Taillon (L 2-3) started in game one for the Marauders. Taillon allowed his first two home runs of the season; the first to Wilmer Flores leading off in the second to open the scoring, and the second in the bottom of the sixth to create the final margin. Taillon allowed six runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking two.

The Marauders erased a 3-0 deficit by scoring two in the fifth and another run in the sixth off 2007 San Diego Padres All Star Chris Young. Gift Ngoepe had three hits, including a double off Young. The Mets in turn rallied to score three in the bottom of the sixth on four straight two-out hits off Taillon.

Stefan Welch was 0-3 in game one, bringing his 16-game hitting streak to an end. It concludes as the second longest streak in Marauders history. Dan Grovatt extended his hitting streak to nine straight games with a single in the fifth, but his streak came to an end with an 0-2 performance in game two.

In game two Erik Goeddel (W 2-1) shut down the Marauders into the seventh before giving way to Adam Kolarek. Kolarek recorded the final three outs. Goeddel allowed just five hits while striking out two.
