Bisons Activate RHP Jeff Stevens, RHP Edgar Ramirez
RHP Chris Schwinden recalled by Mets
INF Michael Fisher transferred to Binghamton
May 20, 2012–The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHPJEFF STEVENS and RHP EDGAR RAMIREZ have been activated to the club’s roster. Both will be available for today’s 1:05 p.m. game against the Indianapolis Indians at Coca-Cola Field.
The Mets today recalled RHPCHRIS SCHWINDEN from the Buffalo Bisons. The Bisons also announced that INFMICHAEL FISHER has been transferred to the Double-A Binghamton Mets.
Stevens has made 13 appearances with the Bisons this season and is 0-1 with a 3.00ERA (15.0IP, 17H, 8BB, 12K). He has allowed just one run in his last seven Triple-A outings, a stretch that included 7.1 innings of work from April 23 – May 15. Stevens was transferred to Single-A Brooklyn on May 16.
Ramirez, 28, has made 10 appearances with Binghamton this season. The righty has posted an 0-1 record and a 5.79ERA in 18.2 innings of work (19H, 9BB, 14K). Originally a 36th round pick of the Mets in 2006, Ramirez has held right-handed hitters to a .240 (12-50) average this season.
Schwinden was 3-2 with a 2.54ERA in seven starts with the Bisons this season. He was also promoted to the Mets for a pair of starts, April 26 - May 6.
Fisher hit .133 (4-30) with a double and two RBI in 19 games with the Bisons this season.
