Reese is back!

A first pitch home run to begin his 2012 season. What a way to start. If this kid can only stay healthy. I hope he present the Mets with a good problem. A problem that every team LOVES to have: DEPTH. I hope that he can continue to just absolutely mash and mix in staying healthy. I truly believe that if he does this, the sky is the limit. Lets hope he can build on his magnificent star and possibly see him when September rolls around.

With Murphy and Tejada both doing well at the big league level, Valdespin and Havens on the horizon, plus solid bats in Satin and and Lutz, the Mets do have some interesting times ahead. It's still puzzling that for a team with strong middle infield prospects and solid at the corners they can't produce a decent backup catcher nor outfielders above AA. I'm enjoying Nieuwenhuis while it lasts, but I think the second time around the league his numbers are going to level off in the .260 range -- which is still better than what I expect from Andres Torres and Jason Bay.

Also...gotta love Havens' name. Give him extra points for that!
