The Mets need a starting pitcher for
the remainder of the 2012 season, After that, the kids start coming up You also
have both Jenrry Mejia and Chris Young finishing up their rehab assignments and
one or both will be ready next week.
But, if you sign Marquis and pay him
the rest of his $3mil deal this year, Mejia can go straight to the Queens pen
(where he is needed more this year) and Young can join Marquis in the Queens
rotation, replacing Dillon Gee and the three-headed
monster they currently are using for the SP5.
Forget the stat line (847 with 3.2
K/9 and 3.7 BB/9, 7-ST). That’s the American League.
Also, a lion share of his bad numbers
this year was yesterday when he gave up eight runs in 1.2-IP.
Mack – I’ll pass. It’s
not the bad game, it’s the fact that he hasn’t got out of the fourth inning all
season. I don’t want anyone to rush Matt Harvey, Jeurys
Familia, or Zack Wheeler; however, I don’t
care when you pitch Mejia and Young. They are no longer learning how to pitch.
They are major league pitchers that were injured and they have the developed
talent to walk right back into the role they had before their injury.
I’d add Young to the
rotation, keep Gee in it, and return Mejia to Buffalo where he was kicking butt
last season.

Bring em in on a minor league deal. No need to rush Mejia, guy has a future either in the bullpen or as a starter.. let him recover fully before thrusting him into the picture
