Remind anyone of of Reyes going on the DL prior to the trade deadline?

Andy Martino (who I'm not big on) is reporting that the Mets have heated up attempts to trade BOTH Jon Niese and Dillon Gee. I'm sure a good outing by either one of them would help a little.

Martino also reports that one the GMs said that people are testing SA on whether he would trade either Syndergaard or Matz. It's not going to happwn.

The Mets will weather out this injury-laden season whether they make the playoffs or not. No one could have predicted what would happen here, but, the good news is the team has the LONG TERM talent to be a pennant contender for years to come... if... they hold on to Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, Matz, and Wheeler. THAT's their future.

Past that, you take what you can get for Niese or Gee. Colon and Montero will help you through this bad patch and there will be some additional offense beginning probably next week when d'Arnaud and Herrera return.

Then, it's inning by inning, game by game.

Year by year?

Sucks that Sandy is talking with other clubs from a point of weakness. Also sucks that Niese has been bad this year, Gee was hurt and gave up big runs last outing and Montero is hurt. No leverage for Sandy

Bob -

What really sucks is the amount of beat press that keeps printing this info, taking away any chance of SA to pull off a decent deal

There's no market for either Gee or Niese

The Mets are on their own here.

I'm afraid I have to refer you back to something you have said a few times this year.

"We are looking at the 2015 Mets"

That's correct. This IS the 2015 Mets with all it's aches and pains... in first place.
