Mets Minor League Games - 6-5-15

Amazing that all 4 regular teams are within a game of one another. Unimaginable 3 weeks ago.

Minor League Players of The Night - Scarlyn Reyes and Steve Matz, both with stellar starts. Michael Conforto for the clutch hit of the night.

Honorable Mention - Gavin "the Stick" Cecchini, hitting like mad while fielding like Chuck Hiller.

AAA - Las Vegas - (29-27) 0 - Memphis (30-26) 1

    LHSP Steven Matz -   6.0-IP, 7-H, 1-R, 5-K, 4-BB, 1.94

10 straight losses as the 51s continue to not hit at all.  Taijeron was 2-2.  Matz allowed a homer with 2 outs in the 5th, all it took to lose. Painful.

AA - Binghamton (27-27) 8  - Reading (29-25) 7

    RHSP Michael Fulmer -   5.0-IP, 7-H, 7-R, 2-K, 1-BB, 3.86

    1B Brock Peterson -  1-4, 1-R, 1-HR (1), Grand Slam, 4-RBI, .250

    SS Gavin Cecchini  -   4-5, 3-R, 2-doubles, .341

Mack - I highlight Ceech here not for positive reasons. He had two more throwing errors, making his error totals for the season 14 in 44 games.

Michael Conforto with a game winning 2 run 9th inning double. Pen (including Parnell) strong.  Perfect Parnell inning, but no K's again.

A+ - St. Lucie (28-27)  5 -  Palm Beach (25-30)  3

    RHSP Miller Diaz -   5.0-IP, 3-H, 2-R, 4-K, 5-BB, 3.47

    2B Dilson Herrera -  3-4, .571

    DH Travis d'Arnaud -   2-4, 2-RBI, .250

If you ask me, call up Dilson and Travis ASAP. No time to dawdle, we have a pennant to win. Dominic Smith with his 19th double. Amazing.

Akeel Morris allows a run and 2 hits, with 3 K's, in 2 innings for his 10th save.

A - Savannah (28-27)  4 -  Greenville (31-24)  0

    RHSP Scarlyn Reyes -   7.0-IP, 3-H, 0-R, 5-K, 2-BB, 2.86

    DH Wuilmer Beccera -   2-3, 1-R,  1-HR (7), 1-RBI, .289

Mack - You have to think at this point that Becerra will 1) be named to the all-star team and, 2), never get to play in it because of a promotion to St. Lucie.

    C Tomas Nido  -  1-4, 1-R,  1-HR (4), 1-RBI, .243

Mack - I remembr when Nido was first drafted in 2012 that high school cross checkers projected + power for this guy. Remember... he's still only 21.

21-11 in their last 32 games.

Rookie - DSL Orioles-2 (3-3) 6  -  DSL-1  (4-2)  3

    RHSP Ramon Laguerre -  5.0-IP, 6-H, 3-R, 7-K, 0-BB, 4.50

    C Juan Uriarte -  1-3, double, 3-RBI, .364

    2B Rafael Valdez -  1-4, .308

GOAT: once again the Vegas offense.  Michael Fulmer lousy, too.
