Richard Jones - Spring Training 2017 - Yesterday

Saturday was kind of a let down from Friday on the back fields. There seemed to be less going on and more fans there. I didn't see Syndergaard taking any batting practice. I did see deGrom and Wheeler
taking batting practice. deGrom did clear the fence once and my nephew ended up with that ball.

The highlight of the morning for me was seeing Frank Viola signing autographs. Another incredibly nice guy. There was a fairly large crowd and he signed something for every single person there.

There isn't much to write about concerning the game. I did enjoy watching Matz pitch. He looked sharp. He was sitting at 93-94 with his fastball. He looked to be locating his his pitches extremely well. He gave up one unearned run due to a Cespedes error. Besides that there was very little else going on.

Hi Richard.

Paul Sewald was going on, too, with 2 hitless innings, giving him 7 innings of 1 hit pitching this spring. It's his time.
