The 51s defeated the Isotopes, 2-1, in game three of the four-game series (game seven of the eight-game homestand, 4-3 record) before a Smith’s Value Menu Monday crowd of 3,531 at Cashman Field.
Las Vegas right-hander Chris Flexen recorded his third victory with a season-high 7 shutout innings. He allowed 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 5 on 97 pitches (64 strikes). He also improved to 3-0 against Albuquerque.
Flexen allowed 1 hit through 5 innings and retired 12 straight batters from the second through the sixth innings.
The 51s scored both runs on solo homers by second baseman Phillip Evans (2-for-4) in the fourth and sixth innings.
The finale of the homestand is Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. on Las Vegas “Reyes de Plata” night
