BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Rumble Ponies infielder Jeff McNeil has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week. From May 14 through May 20, the Ponies second baseman hit .389 (14-for-36), with five home runs, 13 RBI and a .833 slugging percentage. McNeil currently shares the league lead with 12 home runs this season.
Since April 30, McNeil is batting .383 with eight home runs and 25 RBI. He became the second Binghamton player to hit for the cycle, completing the feat on May 13 against the Portland Sea Dogs. McNeil also compiled a 17-game hitting streak, the longest by any Eastern Leaguer this season.
McNeil is the second Rumble Pony to take home a weekly league honor this season. Peter Alonso was recognized as Player of the Week in late April and was later honored as the Player of the Month.

Yippee for McNeil. Win next week too.
Was going to trek up to Bingo tomorrow for the game and an after-game get together with my cousin, who pitches for Richmond. Cuz, Ryan Halstead, got bumped up to Sacramento this morning so trip's off.
Was going to rain anyway. :-)
