Last Time Out: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Akron RubberDucks 6-4 in 11 innings, with a two-run walk-off home run from Tanner Murphy in his first plate appearance of the game. The Ponies won the series against Akron 4-1 and got above .500 (10-9) for the first time this season. Justin Courtney, Nate Lavender, and Kolby Kubichek combined to throw 6 innings, allowing two hits, one unearned run, three walks, and totaling 10 strikeouts. 

Walk-Off Winners: Binghamton rallied for two walk-off wins in the series against the RubberDucks, with a walk-off single from Mateo Gil on April 27 and a two run walk-off homer from Tanner Murphy on April 29. The Ponies had five walk-off winning plays in 2022. 

Rudy: Outfielder Matt Rudick had his second three-hit game of the season on April 28, and also drove in two runs. Rudick has upped his average to .321 and leads the team in hits with 17. Rudick ranks first in the Eastern League in OBP (.471), fourth in OPS (.999), and fifth in batting average (.321). 

Bullies in the Pen: Seven different Ponies bullpen arms did not allow an earned run in their appearance(s) against Akron last week. Justin Courtney, Dylan Hall, and Nate Lavender all made multiple apperances without allowing an earned run. Courtney, Hall, Lavender, Hunter Parsons, Kolby Kubichek, Manny Alvarez, and Marcel RenterĂ­a combined to throw 14.2 innnings without an earned run allowed in the series against Akron. They allowed just six hits and totaled 14 strikeouts. 

Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose: Infielder Jose Peroza had five hits in the last series against Akron, with a home run, five RBIs, and two runs. He went 6-for-16 (.375) with a .375 OBP, .625 SLG, and 1.000 OPS. He had three hits and three RBIs in Tuesday’s series opener and had a solo homer and an RBI single across the doubleheader on Thursday. 

Upcoming Schedule: Binghamton will continue its series with the Patriots on Wednesday at TD Bank Ballpark with first pitch set for 6:35 PM.
