Future Prospect - Syracuse Jonathan Aruaz
There is another candidate for a future utility infielder next season is 24-year old Jonathan Aruaz.
The Panamanian infielder came out of the 2014 International signing period and was signed by the Phillies. He was quickly dealt off to Houston, an organization he played for from 2016-2019.He then became the property of Baltimore, then went to Boston in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft. The Mets invited him to this year’s spring training.
He has had a limited amount of experience in the majors, posting a career stat line of: -0.7-WAR, 175-AB, .200
In 2020, Evaluator Joe Drake of Prospect lIve gave him ratings of: 50-Hit, 30-Power, 50-Field, 55-Arm, 50-Run.
So far this season in Syracuse, Aruaz has put up a respectable stat line if:
Me?
Arauz was always evaluated as a glove-first infielder. He can hit, but there is no power here. Remember, utility infielder are first supposed to no hurt you defensively. Arauz won’t and, in a pich, could fill that role for the Mets.

Araúz is hitting .250, needs to try to break out of the pack.
Wasn't supposed to print today
Was going to finish stat line tonight and book for tomorrow
Instead. Scheduling like Petetson is pitching
I hear ya. Man, Peterson has been atrocious. Where is Roger Craig?
I don't get the love affair with Jeremy Hefner. There's nothing he can do to help Peterson?
