The Mets and their 4 farm clubs played a total of 6 games yesterday, compiling a underwhelming total of 18 hits over the 6 games, with an 0-6 record. A truly carbon-neutral performance.
Stop conserving. Your fans are not neutral, fellas.
Time to step on the gas.
ROAD WARRIORS, HOME WIMPS
Atlanta is 15-3 on the road, while Oakland is 3-15 at home and Kansas City is 2-16 at home. then, there are the Mets…
CONSISTENT MEDIOCRITY
The Mets are at .500 (17-17), and 7-7 at home and 10-10 on the road, while scoring a net negative 3 runs. Kranepool called them Steady Eddie’s.
While the Braves are already + 55.
Cohen is not getting his money’s worth. Ya think?
Mets’ division is net - 67 runs. Easy.
While AL East is net + 189 runs. Nasty.
POINT TWO THIRTEEN
Lindor started out yesterday hitting .213.
Marte, Alvarez, and Guillorme finished the day hitting .213.
If you want to be that consistent, guys, can you do .312 and not .213?
KOOSMAN SWEARS HE COULD DO THAT
Hitless Nido slid to .118/.148/.118 in 55 plate appearances. Are you like me and can’t wait for the next 55?
One of the many reasons the Mets are not +55 like the Braves is Nido’s first fabulous 55.
Koosman in his career was .119/.151/.141, lest you think I exaggerate.
Let’s break it down more finely:
Nido is hitting better vs. lefties, at .130, so there’s a platoon idea stirring in my head, and he is hitting just .071 in night games, so he must be sleepy then. Play him only in day games, where he hits a much better and almost dangerous .174.
He is progressing nicely, though.
He hit .000 in March games, .122 in April games, and .125 in May games. So, let’s draw some level of comfort from that upwards progression.
He and Guillorme have 3 RBIs in 109 plate appearances.
Jerry Koosman’s career RBI per PA rate (46 in 1,052 PAs) was higher.
BUNDY, BUNDY, SO GOOD TO ME
Other than Dylan Bundy’s 12 HRs allowed in 17 AAA innings, and the 19 other hits allowed besides those 12, I can’t think of anything else to expound upon at the moment.
Keep in mind that as other teams consider whether to promote a AAA hitter, they now first have to take inflation into account, and consider if Dylan Bundy pitched to him.
“Hal, what is Jerry’s Bundy-free slash line? Wow, not so good. Jerry needs more time in AAA.”
ANOTHER ONE THAT GOT AWAY
Ex-Met Colin Holderman pitched an immaculate inning, striking out the side by throwing all nine of his pitches for strikes, in a recent Bucs’ 3-2 loss to the Rays. Us? We sign Dylan Bundy instead. Bundy’s next job is at Cape Canaveral.

Holderman has thrown 14 innings for the Pirates this year, 5 runs.
Never look at W-L records in the minors
Simply developmental
Can I trade Vogelbach for Holderman
3-11 in last 14? Oh my.
Well at least he isn't Ted Bundy but wait he's dead isn't he though Dylan is alive barely and gone soon.
Wild Trade Idea:
Giants Send:
LSP Kyle Harrison AAA
RF Michael Conforto
C Blake Sabol
Mets Send:
SS Francisco Lindor (contract wrangling necessary here)
CF Lorenzo Cedrola
LSP David Peterson
DH Daniel Vogelbach
