Tom Brennan - Dynamic Duo and Speed Dial

Ronny Mauricio to Evers to Chance (Richard Nelson photo)

So, if you are a GM (say, in Queens, hypothetically) and you had  a real need for a hitting booster shot, and you had this guy, this wonderful guy, on your top farm team named player X, what do you do?

283 at bats, 26 doubles, 2 triples, 26 HR, and 57 RBIs, .342.

Just for a full season effect, double those #'s and you get:

566 ABs, 52 doubles, 4 triples, 52 HRs, 114 RBIs, .342.

Babe Ruth stuff.

Me? I'd pick up the phone.

Mark Vientos, future Mets Masher (Richard Nelson photo)

That "guy" above, you likely guessed, is actually the combined production of the dynamic duo of Ronny Mauricio and Mark Vientos

So, it is simple...pick up the phone twice, call them both, and stop relying on 3 run singles to beat weak teams.

Happy Sunday, people.

The only reason their not up is because it will highlight the bad off season for Eppy and Co. so lets just keep pushing them out there hoping they'll turn it around. I wonder what the criteria is for promotion in the Braves system?

It's really dumb not to bring up Vientos. His so called problem is never going away. He is best suited as a DH with occasional playing time. Either bring him up now or trade him.

Ray, I plan to bring Vientos up until they bring him up.

Gary, I agree. And Braves promote guys when ready.

The Mets can’t hit. It’s time to give Vientos and! Mauricio their shots. McNeil to. LF and Vogelbach to the bench.
