STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Jenrry Mejia (0-0, ---) makes his first appearance with the B-Mets since 2010. Mejia made five starts with the Buffalo Bisons (AAA) last season before undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery on May 16, 2011. He started this season with the St. Lucie Mets (High-A), going 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in two rehab starts. Mejia pitched for the Binghamton Mets in 2009 and 2010, going 2-5 with a 3.26 ERA in 16 starts. The righty from the Dominican Republic made the New York Mets Opening Day roster in 2010 and made his Major League debut on 4/7/10. He went 0-4 with a 4.62 ERA in 33 games with the Mets.
RHP Stolmy Pimentel (1-0, 4.10) makes his fourth start of the season. The right-hander did not start pitching with Portland this year until late April due to an injury. Pimentel went 0-9 with a 9.12 ERA in 15 starts with the Sea Dogs last year before being demoted to the Salem Red Sox (High-A) in early July. Pimentel was signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2006.
