FLASH: DJ Carrasco DFA'd

RHP D.J. Carrasco was designated for assignment after the game yesterday. In exchange the Mets will recall LHP Robert Carson from Double A- Binghamton to be the second lefty in the bullpen. This leaves a spot open for someone to get added to the 40 man roster. (Chris Young?).

Carrasco appeared in only 4 games (3.2 innings) this season and gave up 6 hits, of which 2 were HR, and 3 ER for a 7.36 ERA.

*** This is a move that shouldve happened last year. As long as he clears waivers he should be in Triple AAA Buffalo for the rest of the year to stretch out as a starter..

so all the Mets bullpen's pitching woes are now DJ's fault?

DFAing DJ is overdue from last season.

Bringing up Carson is both premature and stupid. He'll sit next to Valdespin and grow dust.

This was a 40-man move.

It should have been 'El".

Maybe his innings will go to Parnell so he can at least face more than 1 batter.

I agree with you Mack.

DJ was not the fault for the bullpen woes. (HE JUST GOT BACK) This is purely a 40 Man Roster Set-Up for future use.

Also agreed on Carson that bringing him up is very dumb. Although I dont think Elvin Ramirez would be the right choice either....who are the lefties in Buffalo right now? Olsen is one right?

You don't understand Soto-san...

Mack's Mets is the official headquarters for the "Elvin Ramirez for Willits Point" campaign... :)
