Draft 14 – Nick Burdi, Jack Barrie, Brady Aiken, Alex Destino,

12-9-13 – Pine Tar Press  -  46-RHP Nick Burdi Louisville 1/19/93- The top collegiate closer who consistently flirts with 100 off the bump. He is a high-energy pitcher who doesn’t waste any juice when he is throwing. He backs up his late moving fastball with a plus slider. Guys like Burdi tend to move through organizations fast so he would be a guy that you could see be the first from his class to reach the majors. (Out of first round- Brewers selection) http://pinetarpress.com/early-look-2014-mlb-draft/

1-1-14 - Jack Barrie - 1B - 2014 - Maleny, AUS -  Barrie put his strength on display, launching 4 home runs, 1 of which was to deep centerfield, showing a short quick swing with high level hitting tools.

11-21-13 – BA Top 100 High School Players - 4 Brady Aiken LHP L/L 6-3 207 Cathedral Catholic, San Diego UCLA http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/2014-high-school-top-100-with-commitments/

12-10-13 – TTF – Top 50 HS Players - 35. Alex Destino, LHP, North Buncombe HS (NC) - At 6′-3″ and 220 pounds, the southpaw can dial it up to 93 mph and shows a good feel for his secondary stuff. He still needs to refine his pitches, but with his size and easy delivery, there is a lot of upside. Committed to South Carolina. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-top-50/40532#zz88YJZTOG8iEa1Z.99

I can see Burdi being the Mets closer next year.

I'm not sure the Mets would have the guts to draft an RP with their first pick
